Prepare

  • Tuna Steak, 1" thick

Let's Cook

  1. Step 1.

Start with 1 or 2 1-inch thick tuna steaks.

  2. Step 2.

In a mortar and pestle, combine 1 tsp coriander, a pinch of salt, a pinch of fennel, and pepper; grind together.

  3. Step 3.

    Pre-heat pans to high.

  4. Step 4.

Season a board with the spice mixture.

  5. Step 5.

Place steaks on the board and massage in a bit of olive oil.

  6. Step 6.

Place tuna in a non-stick or griddle pan.

  7. Step 7.

Grill for 1.5 to 2 minutes each side until seared. Watch the sides; if it cooks over 50% through the first side, it is overdone.

  8. Step 8.

Let it rest for 1-2 minutes when done.

  9. Step 9.

Sprinkle on some lemon and oil (or better yet, lemon oil).
