Smoked Almonds
Smoked almonds are a savory snack made by coating almonds in a seasoned butter mixture and smoking them until lightly toasted. The recipe includes a homemade seasoning blend of salt, sugar, and onion powder.

- 59.1 ml butter
- 14.8 ml seasoned salt
- 9.86 ml white sugar

Let's Cook

Step 1.
Melt the butter in a skillet, add the almonds and stir.

Remove from heat and cover. Stir a bit every minute or so for 10 minutes.

Place the salt, sugar and onion powder in a spice grinder, clean coffee grinder or blender and pulverize until it becomes a fine powder.

Dump the almonds in a colander and strain off the melted butter.

Spread them out in a baking sheet and coat with the salt mixture.

Smoke at about 225 degrees with a light flavored wood like apple or alder until the nuts are lightly toasted.

Remove and allow to cool.

Store in an airtight container.
