Sautéed Chitterlings

Sautéed chitterlings are a Southern delicacy, pan-fried until golden and seasoned with vinegar or hot sauce. Serve with black-eyed peas and greens and cornbread for a classic meal.

- 1 Stewed Chitterlings (opens in new tab)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Cider vinegar and salt or hot sauce
- 1 Black-Eyed Peas and Greens (opens in new tab)
- 1 Southern Corn Bread (opens in new tab)
- Hot pepper sauce

Step 1.
Prepare: Stewed Chitterlings

When the chitterlings are tender, drain and dry well. Heat in a large skillet over medium-high heat: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Add the chitterlings and sauté until golden brown, 5 to 8 minutes. Season to taste with: Cider vinegar and salt or hot sauce

Serve with: Black-Eyed Peas and Greens; Southern Corn Bread; Hot pepper sauce
